OK, I am a U.S. history teacher, so I won't bore people with a history lesson ;) but this is one of my favorite quotes from one of our founding fathers. Thomas Paine was an interesting guy, and he was right. They did, in a very idealistic way, begin the world-or at least the way the world thought-again. As everyone loves to say: America is not a place, it is an idea. Ideas rock!
I love the diversity of my country and I love the ideas it stands for; I am always amazed at all the things the U.S. gets right. Happy July 4th everyone.
