Conehead Dogs

My puppy (although she is a year and 3 months, she acts like a puppy) Sicily, came in yesterday evening with blood all over her chin. She was agitated and kept scratching it, even though it clearly bothered her. So I panic and spend lots of time deciding whether or not she needed to go to the emergency clinic: Lots of money vs. her not hurting. This time, since she could and was eating fine, I decided to wait to take her to the normal vet (who I have a total crush on; along with wishing my real Dr. spend as much time with me as my vet does with my dogs).
She is fine, they could find no reason why she would scratch all the skin of her chin, but it was bad enough that they had to sedate her to check it out. Of course. But nothing...just her scratching a single place to extremes. She now has ointment to help her heal, antibiotics, a cortisone shot...and don't forget, the sedating her. So, she still cost 240.00. And the best part--she gets to wear a cone on her head for 10 days.
In exchange for my hard-earned money, she is providing me with endless entertainment running into things with the cone on her head, so I guess it was a fair trade.
